Greetings!

Below is a list of the unit, vocabulary and skills that we are currently working on in Spanish class.  Feel free to use these descriptions to help supplement your students learning at home.   I recommend you use some of the resources described in my parent letter sent out in the beginning of the year and attached below.

Parent letter 2017-2018

 

K/1st grade Spanish

Unit:Spanish basics

Vocabulary: colors, numbers 0-30, days of the week, months, 

Grammar concepts: pronunciation of "tricky spanish letters" (u, ll, j, h, n) exposure to pronunciation of vowels: (a, e, i, o, y), describing color and number in conjunction, describing the date in spanish, using a calendar to describe movement between dates in spanish, introduction to masculine/feminine and singular/plural, exposure to differences in articles

 

2nd grade Spanish

Unit:Spanish basics

Vocabulary: colors, numbers 0-100, days of the week, months, 

Grammar concepts: pronunciation of "tricky spanish letters" (u, ll, j, h, n) pronunciation of vowels: (a, e, i, o, y), describing color and number in conjunction, describing the date in spanish, going simple math problems in spanish, describing and telling time in spanish, application of masculine/feminine and singular/plural, describing nouns using "a" vs "the", introduction to spanish syntax rules

 

3rd/4th grade Spanish

Unit:Pasatiempos (hobbies)

Vocabulary: numbers 0-100, 

Grammar concepts: pronunciation of "tricky spanish letters" (u, ll, j, h, n) exposure to pronunciation of vowels: (a, e, i, o, y), describing the date in spanish, telling time in spanish, conjugation in the present tense of regular -ar, -er and -ir verbs, determining tense, and subject from a spanish story, asking simple questions and responding, describing day to day activities using spanish
